The Arlington Color Run was founded in 2024 by then 16-year-old Meiya Rollins as a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
At the time, Meiya was in her second year of the St. Jude Leadership Society and determined to double her fundraising efforts from the year before. The event was such a success that the Town of Arlington asked her to make it an annual tradition! In just its first two years, the Arlington Color Run raised an impressive $17,418.
Today, Arlington Color Run is officially incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and serves as an official fundraising arm for ALSAC/St. Jude. The organization is dedicated to expanding its impact by mentoring local youth through committee memberships and board positions.
In addition to the annual run, Arlington Color Run is developing new community events to raise critical funds to help eradicate childhood cancer, foster youth leadership development, and strengthen the organization’s future.
Together, we are creating a vibrant community where young leaders thrive — and where every step brings us closer to a world without childhood cancer.
Our fearless leader gave a TED Talk, produced a video presentation, and won three awards at this year's St. Jude NextGen conference.
